Modification and Enforcement of Orders

Chicago, Illinois, Attorneys Assisting With Modification and Enforcement of Orders

Sometimes after a spousal support, child visitation, or child support order has been put in place, conditions change making modification and/or enforcement necessary.

At Esp, Kreuzer, Cores & McLaughlin, LLP, we work with both men and women who wish to modify or enforce a court order. A job might be lost. A child may require additional funds due to a medical condition. A former spouse may choose not to follow through with required activities. Anytime there is a significant change in circumstances or a person has failed to abide by court orders, our attorneys are prepared to pursue a modification and/or enforcement order that protects your best interests.

Contact us to arrange a consultation to discuss options for modification and enforcement. We work with clients throughout Chicago and its suburbs from our offices in Wheaton, downtown Chicago and nearby Oswego, including DuPage County, Kane County, Cook County, Will County, Kendall County and the Loop.

Modifications to Spousal Support, Child Support and Child Custody

Once a spousal support, child custody, or child support order has been established, it is not permanent. If there are substantial changes in circumstance, or a disputed aspect of the judgment, a modification to the order can be sought. Our firm confidently handles modifications to maintenance (alimony) orders, parenting plans and any other agreements that may have been established.

However, it is important to know that it is difficult to modify a child custody order within two years of the initial establishment. For a modification to take place within these first two years there must be serious endangerment or a substantial change in circumstances.

Enforcement of Orders

If your former spouse has not followed through on court orders regarding spousal support, child custody, or child support, you may be able to petition the courts for an order of enforcement. The lawyers at our firm will evaluate your case, helping you set achievable outcome goals. We also represent clients who have unjustly had enforcement actions taken against them.
